Thierry VAN RYSWYCK

(Anvers, 1911 - Vallaurin, 1958)

Thierry van Ryswyck studied sculpture and ceramic at the Academy of Antwerp. He went with Alberic Collin (1886-1962) and Raymond de Meester (1904-1995) to the Antwerp Zoo, but could not, like Collin, meet Bugatti (1885-1916), whose influence is nevertheless evident in his work. He exhibited his first works at the Lamorinière room in Antwerp in 1930, before moving five years later in Paris.
