Rohal was born in Hungary and naturalised French in 1953, he studied sculpture in Dresden, where he wins the first prize and then in Paris in the atelier of Antoine Bourdelle. He was a member of La Résistance, and in addition to animal bronzes, he realized many commemorative monuments, namely in memory of Châteaubriant and Drancy. He will abandon the use of stone in order to focus on weld metal.
